Its bowl, bowl cover, and knives can be removed without tools, and the unit can be shut off quickly with a simple pull/push switch. To reduce the risk of injury, its bowl cover is equipped with a safety interlock.

The Hobart 84145-2 buffalo chopper's double knives and 14-inch-diameter bowl are constructed of stainless steel—a strong metal that resists rusting and denting. Its legs also are made of stainless steel and fitted with rubber feet to secure the unit in place during use. This unit operates with a ¹⁄₂-horsepower motor and does not include an attachment hub.
