With its single-deck design, the Vulcan VIR1BF upright broiler has a cooking grid with a storage cabinet implemented beneath it. The cooking grid measures 25¹⁄₂ inches wide by 24¹⁄₂ inches deep and is made of cold-rolled steel bars, creating grill marks and improving heat conduction. Its front, top front ledge, and sides are made of stainless steel to withstand high-volume use and daily wear. This 36-inch-wide by 42.63-inch-deep by 77.13-inch-high unit is supported by 6-inch stainless steel legs.

The Vulcan VIR1BF upright broiler is heated by four 25,000-BTU burners and uses natural gas. Its integrated pilot ignition system streamlines activating the unit, and users can control burners with two infinite heat valves. Operators can raise or lower the cooking grid in five different positions to achieve desired results, from browning to holding. Beneath the grid, a full-width, floating stainless steel drip pan collects grease and food particles and can be cleaned out to maintain a sanitary unit. The broiler's base cabinet can store pans, pots, and other cooking utensils for versatility.
